Body: Really, you can't beat the Brat Pack movies to take you back to the awful days of AquaNet Hairspray and blue eyeshadow. Everytime I watch one of those movie I am reminded of all the dumb things I did and wore : ) I love them!!!

Again, not necessarily cinematic genius, but films that epitomize how you remember the 90s ( or a particular part of the 90s). Here's mine: 1) Edward Scissorhands - does anything scream 90s like this film? Early Johnny Depp, the Rebel Without a Cause like angst of the early 90s personified in Tim Burton's creation about a man forever on the outside of the "perfect" world ( a theme that also reverberates throughout many of his later films) 2) Singles - A film complete with long hair, plaid shirts, and the Seattle grunge music scene- classic! 3) House Party- on the lighter side, there was this fun film featuring a very popular rap duo named Kid n Play. The fashion, the music, the dancing, blatant sexual references...also classic! 4)Dances with Wolves - & 5) Wyatt Earp - 90s actors of the moment paying tribute to our frontier past.

Body: Ok, I saw this movie in the late 1980's (maybe 1989). This movie has the worst editing I have ever seen. There is a scene in it (at least there was when I watched it) where the kid in the wheelchair is chasing the guy through the woods and you can see the microphone up in the top right corner of the screen. I just thought this was funny and we have come a long way since 1985 in our film making! Anyone else remember bad editing in films?

Body: I posted this in the other convo, but to call attention to it, if you put a movie in this list, tag the movie with the fashion trend in question for the hilarious or cringeworthy results. Also, for Tiger Beat and Heartthrobs (are they really two names for the same thing...? Clarification?), if you add a movie to the list, under the film listing where it says "Edit," put who it is that drove you to add it to the list. BTW, did anyone catch the mini-marathon AMC was having with some of the Brat Pack movies this past weekend? I don't know if it was longer than two movies, but I saw snippets of the Breakfast Club and Sixteen Candles. I can't watch the Breakfast Club on cable anymore because the profanity is such an integral and hilarious element of the movie. And Sixteen Candles was slightly edited but is always fun to watch. Thanks!

Call this is a support group or just someplace to say "AS IF," teen movies are fun. Even the ones that sometimes make you think. Sometimes. I've tried to think of everything, but it's really hard, so help it out. I've covered the Brat Pack, the Coreys, some of the Pop Tarts, and some of the obvious stuff, but I don't remember all of them. The lists speak for themselves, but here they are: The In Crowd: lists anything remotely teen oriented. The Satire: those movies that contain biting commentary about the teen condition. Angst: There's drama somewhere in there. Going Steady: Your romantic situations of any variety. The Real World: Films that confront "real life" issues, like death and pregnancy. Sometimes both. Oh My God, I could just die: Adventure or Horror flicks that jeopardize the lives of our heroes. Help build the lists! And remember, stay cool.
