Body: Hey all, I'm working on a web series right now called Ten Sundays, I thought I'd keep a thread here to update those who may be interested when episodes of the series are posted. I don't consider it mumblecore by definition, although I think many of the same principles were utilized during its production. For now, you can check out the trailer at www.tensundays.tv (it's only one minute long!). Comments are appreciated. I'll be sure to post when full episodes are completed, should be very soon. Also, if you have nothing else to do, you can check out a short film (and its trailer) that I directed last year called What Happened After at www.marsonmars.com Thanks!Pavan
Body: Just from looking at the Mumblecore map, I would have to say that I enjoyed Great World of Sound quite a bit. It was torn down and transparent, which I felt added to the overall realism and humor of the film. I also liked George Washington for a lot of the same reasons. When I watched it, I wouldn't have labeled it "mumblecore", but when I think more about it, the filmmaking reflects a lot of the same characteristics. Its interesting seeing how all of these films and directors are related. I would never have drawn the connection between HomestarRunner and George Washington:)So, what are your favorites?
Body: I have never heard of "Mumblecore" before and it reminded me of something like "Emocore" or some sort of sub-genre created to categorize things and it makes me smile, but I like the films that are considered part of this genre. The Puffy Chair is a film that I saw on this list that i had heard of that i was interested in. I had watched a short by the Duplass Brothers called This is John, about a guy who is reseting his answering machine and I really enjoyed it. This is how I came across the trailer for The Puffy Chair and I need to see this film is looks like it is very heartfelt and I want to see it.
Body: The word "mumblecore" gets tossed around quite a bit, but it's been tough nailing down what it actually means. Rumor has it that the directors aren't even very fond of it. Perhaps, it's not the term so much as being lumped together under a specific label. How would you define mumblecore?
