Body: Logan's Run i watched Ewan McGregor in "The Island" a few days ago and I kept having thoughts of how it was basically a remake of Logan's Run. so I had to break out the classics. I forgot how much i really enjoyed this movie. Peter York was a perfect fit for the role. The special effects were pretty low-budget; everytime they would shoot at the runner it always made a spark at their feet. i guess in the future nobody is taught how to aim. it reminded me of the old bugs bunny cartoons where yosemite would shoot at the feet and yell "dance ya varmint". Aside from that, I loved the theme of the movie.who can forget the creepy "renewal ceremony" masks?
Body: After I finished season 3 of Heroes I resolved to never watch another episode of that show ever again. I can't believe people still watch it. I just read an article at i09 that basically ridiculed the most recent episode. If you haven't watched it yet beware of spoilers in the article. Needless to say Nathan and the gang sound just as confused and worthless as they always have. It's great to see that the writers for that show don't know how to write their way out of the paper box that is Heroes. So do you still watch? Tell me why.
Body: Watchmen this friday... [I'm rubbing my hands together and drooling, like a cartoon wolf who's spotted a flock of sheep] Watch the trailer. Read Kevin Buist's review on SpoutBlog. Then for buzzkill, check out Chris Campbell's 5 Reasons a Watchmen movie was unecessary. &lt;a href ="http://answers.polldaddy.com/poll/1427635/" &gt;WHO'S THE RADDEST WATCHMEN CHARACTER?&lt;/a&gt; &lt;br/&gt; &lt;span style="font-size:9px;" mce_style="font-size:9px;"&gt; (&lt;a href ="http://www.polldaddy.com"&gt; polls&lt;/a&gt;)&lt;/span&gt; The Comedian is almost as fun to read about as the Joker, but I have to go with my man Rorschach. My favorite Rorschach moment comes when his brainstorming gets increasingly wacky, and he's like, "All this Egyptian imagery is making my logic fuzzy..." PS - Hats off to my man Risselada, who made this polldaddy stuff possible. I recommend you check out his Movie Poll group for the interesting discussions and great new polls every Monday.
Body: I've recently been watching Heroes, which resulted in some poor sci-fi trivia, and something, actually many things, bother me about the series. One of the biggest issues is time travel. I feel like the ability to travel in time is too common, and that it is often very poorly explained because explaining it is too complex, but understanding the ramifications of allowing such a device to exist in film or television can be even more confusing. Needless to say I'm fairly disappointed with Heroes' treatment of time travel. I wanted to know if anyone felt there were films in which time travel was used that didn't result in conflicts in the logic of events, etc. Preferably it would be used intelligently, unlike Hiro Nakamura's brainless journeys through the space/time continuum.
