Movie Critics

You really dig movies, right? Of course you do, or you wouldn't be here. For people like us, it's not just entertainment; it's a way of life. It's in our DNA. You don't just watch movies. You anticipate them. You buy advanced tickets. You experience them. You may even be one of those creative types who makes your own movies.

It should be no surprise then that movie critics never seem to get it quite right. I mean, come on, how can they reduce months, maybe even years of scripting, casting, shooting, scoring, special effects, and editing down to a basic thumbs up or thumb down? But famous movie critics continue to do it, and they are nowhere near as qualified as you are. How many times have you said to yourself, "Self, my friends and I could be better movie critics than these guys." Well, when you join Spout, you can be!

At Spout, we are all movie critics. You can rate, tag, list, discuss, and blog any movie under the sun. And after you check out movie critiques from any of our hundreds of online film critics, you can browse the Spout store to pick up as many wonderful (or wonderfully cheesy) movies as you want.

As a Spout member, you can write movie critiques about the best action movies, classic family movies, top comedy movies, and Over The Top. Yeah, it's funny how they come all rolled into one sometimes, isn't it?

The Art of Movie Critiques

Good movie critics take so many different criteria into consideration when crafting great movie critiques. Maybe it's that moment when a character has to make a choice they can never unmake. Perhaps it's the way the director chooses to reveal information and string us along. Or maybe you just dig on killer special effects that leave your jaw hanging.

For good movie critics, all of that comes into play in writing useful movie critiques. Of course, you could just follow the "Anything-Bill-Murray-Touches-Turns-To-Gold" rule. That's the beauty of Spout.

After you register at Spout, you can invite your friends to join as well. You'll also find lots of new online friends through the ability to create or join groups, comment on others' movie critiques and blogs, and see what other online film and movie critics have rated as the best and worst flicks. After all that, you can take your plastic over to the Spout store and pickup a whole shopping cart full of classics and new releases.

Spout also offers some sweet features that movie critics everywhere will love: tagging features and list building!

Sure, you can search for movies on Spout by using our handy-dandy little search box, but our tagging feature lets you leave little one-word movie critiques for movies and follow and endless maze of tags to discover flicks you might not have found otherwise. For real, when was the last time you found movies through terms like: killerrobot, visual-feast, and stuck-in-my-head? Think about it, whenever you're up for a "visual feast" movie - Whoomp, there it is.

Real movie critics can whip out a list of movies at a moment's notice, and break it down by genre without thinking twice. If that's you, Spout has you covered. Movies That Don't Suck, Top 100 Horror Movies, Best Comedy Movies, Favorite Movies starring Anna Nicole Smith, whatever kind of list you want, you can make.

Once you join Spout, you can log in and make lists until your fingers cramp up. That's what real movie critics do, thus eliminating the option for an overrated "thumbs up" or "thumbs down". You feelin' us?

Right about now you should be realizing that you really need Spout. You love movies, and you love to talk about 'em; this site was practically made for movie critics like you.
