Biography
Sergio Amidei was one of the premiere screenwriters in post-WW II Italy and was an important figure in the development of the Italian neorealist movement. He began his film career in 1924 doing various jobs until 1938 when he became a scenarist. In his heyday, Amidei worked with some of Italy's greatest directors, among them Rossellini, and DeSica. His most famous screenplays include
