Biography
Jay Adler was the oldest of seven children of celebrated Yiddish stage star Jacob Adler. The best-known of Jay's siblings were Broadway and movie character-actor Luther Adler and actress/acting teacher Stella Adler. Jay made his first screen appearance in 1937, settling into a four-decade movie career. Usually seen in minor roles as fathers and businessmen, Jay Adler numbered among his film credits
