Biography
Independent producer Arthur P. Jacobs was behind a number of successful and not so successful films of the '60s and '70s. His biggest hits include the
Planet of the Apes series. Before becoming a producer, Jacobs attended USC. He got his start in film, working as a messenger and then a publicist for MGM. Following a stint at Warners, he founded his own publicity firm until 1964 when he turned to film production. ~ Sandra Brennan, All Movie Guide
