Biography
A former theatrical poster artist and stage manager, Producer Nat Holt was aligned with several major studios (RKO, 20th Century-Fox, Paramount) during his Hollywood years, but maintained an independent, autonomous production unit throughout. Specializing in westerns, Holt was briefly partnered with cowboy star
Randolph Scott for such films as
Badman's Territory (1946),
Trail Street (1947),
Fighting Man of the Plains (1949) and
Canadian Pacific (1949), Among his few non-westerns were the action-packed
Riff Raff (1947),
Hurricane Smith (1951) and
Flight to Tangier (1953). Nat Holt remained with six-guns and Stetsons in his TV series work, including the long-running Tales of Wells Fargo (1957-61) and the short-lived
