Biography
Stunt man/bit player Alan R. Gibbs has performed numerous exciting bits during the '70s and '80s. During the latter decade, he frequently doubled for Jack Nicholson in such films as
The Postman Always Rings Twice (1981) and
The Witches of Eastwick (1987). One of his more famous stunts was a car jump in
Smokey and the Bandit (1977); a film for which Gibbs also worked as a second unit director. Later, he resumed directing second units and working as a stunt coordinator in such films as
The River (1984) and
