Biography

A vaudeville dancer by the late 1900s, Seymour Felix became a successful Broadway dance director in the '20s, and moved to Hollywood and began choreographing musicals in 1929. Although he helmed two films in the early '30s (Girls Demand Excitement and Stepping Sisters), Felix enjoyed his greatest successes as a choreographer, with such notable films as The Great Ziegfeld, Alexander's Ragtime Band, Rose of Washington Square, Yankee Doodle Dandy (co-choreographed with Leroy Prinz and John Boyle), and Cover Girl. ~ All Movie Guide
