Biography

American composer Con Conrad first found success writing music on Broadway. He moved to Hollywood in the early '30s and wrote scores and songs for some of the first talkies. In 1934, the song "The Continental" from The Gay Divorcee won Conrad the very first Oscar given for "Best Song." ~ Sandra Brennan, All Movie Guide
