Biography
One of the most distinguished and prolific actor/managers of the British stage, John Clements was surprisingly less successful in films. Clements' best-known movie role was as heroic coward Lt. Faversham in
The Four Feathers (1939), one of several screen appearances under the aegis of producer
Alexander Korda. In 1947, he served as writer, producer, and director of
Call of the Blood. His last screen showing was a cameo role in Attenborough's
Gandhi (1981). In 1968, he was knighted for his theatrical accomplishments. Sir John Clements was the husband of actress
