Biography
American screenwriter John L. Balderston specialized in writing plays and horror and fantasy scripts for movies. Prior to this, he was a war correspondent in Europe during WW I, the editor of
Outlook magazine, and a correspondent for the New York World. His stage plays
Dracula and
Frankenstein (both 1931) were both adapted into classic horror movies. Among the famous books he adapted to screen are
Prisoner of Zenda (1937) and
