Biography
Working in a variety of genres, Hungarian filmmaker Péter Bacsó specializes in creating stories about social issues, particularly those relevant to young people. Bacsó was educated at Budapest's Academy of Theater and Film Art (class of 1950), where he also taught following graduation. At the same time, he edited scripts and wrote screenplays for the Hunnia Film Studio. He made his feature debut in 1963 with Nyáron Egyszeru.../No Problems in Summer, for which he also contributed to the screenplay. In addition to directing, Bacsó often collaborates on screenplays with Péter Zimre. In 1967, Bacsó served as the artistic director of Mafilm 1. Studio (it has since become Dialog Studio) and between 1982 and 1991 served as the studio's managing director. ~ Sandra Brennan, All Movie Guide
