Biography
A former stuntman, Robert Angus became a film editor for Howard Hughes and then a producer of such television programs as Ozzie and Harriet and
The Mary Tyler Moore Show. Like Hughes, Robert Angus was deaf in one ear and obsessed with obtaining perfect sound. In 1969, he edited
Dennis Hopper's
Easy Rider into a releasable form. Angus has written screenplays for films, including
Armored Car Robbery (1950) and
Timetable (1956). In 1964, Angus directed
The Candidate. Angus continued occasionally directing films such as Brown Eye Evil Eye in Europe. As a producer, Angus collaborated with
Richard Attenborough on
