Biography
André Andrejew was originally trained as an architect. He later began working as a set designer in stage productions of Berlin and Vienna. This led him to begin working in films. In 1923, Andrejew worked as art director on Wiene's
Raskolnikow/Crime and Punishment. This film earned him international acclaim, and soon he became one of the premiere art directors in Europe. He has worked with some of the world's greatest directors including Pabst, Feyder, Duvivier, Clouzot, and Asquith.
