Biography
With his wavy, jet-black locks and photogenic, freckled countenance, American actor Marshall Allman suggested a cross between a young
Patrick Duffy and a young
Timothy Hutton. Like Duffy, Allman made his first significant mark on television. Early on, he landed a string of guest appearances on a host of series programs, including
Without a Trace,
Malcolm in the Middle,
The Practice, and
Boston Public. Allman segued into features at a low ebb, with a turn in the slasher picture
Shallow Ground (2004), following that up with the slightly more noble and respected
Bruce Willis actioner
Hostage (2005). Allman then headlined the gentle coming-of-age comedy drama
Dishdogz (2006), about the apprenticeship of a down-and-out skateboarder. The actor is most commonly recognized, however, for his portrayal of L.J. Burrows Jr., son of prison detainee Lincoln Burrows (
Dominic Purcell), on Fox's exciting serialized drama
Prison Break (2005).
Marshall Allman is of no immediate relation to rockers Gregg or Duane Allman. ~ Nathan Southern, All Movie Guide
