Biography
Something of a modern-day Renaissance man, the multi-talented Danny R. McBride took his Hollywood bow in the early 2000s with a series of scripting, acting, direction, and production credits (occasionally, though not always, on the same film). McBride made his most considerable impact as the co-screenwriter, associate producer, and second unit director of the sci-fi movie
Underworld (2003) -- an action-packed, über-gothic vampires vs. werewolves saga headlined by
Kate Beckinsale that lit up the international box office. He capitalized on the success of this outing by executive producing, scripting, and co-authoring the story of the sequel, Underworld: Evolution (2006), also a monetary winner, and one that essentially reprised the story of the first film. McBride then stepped in front of the camera by accepting a handful of small roles in Hollywood features that included
The Heartbreak Kid (2007) and
The Pineapple Express (2008). ~ Nathan Southern, All Movie Guide
