Biography
Casting director Marsha Kleinman was responsible for discovering several prominent actors including
Rosanna Arquette,
David Strathairn, and
Timothy Hutton. Kleinman started out in the early '70s working for a Los Angeles advertising agency as a casting director for television commercials. Following experience at the Mark Taper Forum and Paramount studios, Kleinman teamed up with Pat Harris to form their own casting company. Together, the two cast a few television programs, including
Happy Days and
Laverne and Shirley. She became the vice president of casting at NBC in 1978. Two years later, she left the company to found Marsha Kleinman & Associates. They specialized in casting miniseries and television movies. Over her career, Kleinman earned three Artios Awards from the Casting Society of America. ~ Sandra Brennan, All Movie Guide
