Biography
Producer William L. Pereira got his start as an architect. In that capacity, he designed a number of movie theaters for the Chicago-based Balaban & Katz chain, a division of Paramount. Impressed with Pereira's designs, they gave him a job doing the special effects for Cecil B. DeMille's
Reap the Wild Wind (1942). After that, Pereira became a producer. He also continued designing buildings and is responsible for the Los Angeles County Museum of Art, the Disneyland Hotel, Marineland, and CBS Television City. ~ Sandra Brennan, All Movie Guide
