Internationally recognized fashion designer Marlene Stewart is also known for her distinctive costuming in a wide range of feature films. Her designs range from recreating the conservative early-'60s attire in
JFK (1991) to the wild, colorful clothing worn by
Patrick Swayze and
Wesley Snipes in To Wong Foo, Thanks for Everything! Julie Newmar (1995) to the fantasy costumes of
The Phantom (1996). Stewart also worked closely with
Madonna during the late '80s, providing get-ups for the singer's live concerts; some of Stewart's designs can be seen in
Madonna's documentary
