Biography

Known for creating the distinctive look of such films as Romancing the Stone (1984), Back to the Future (1985), and City Slickers (1991), Lawrence G. Paull ranks as one of cinema's most talented production designers. He is most famous for creating the unique look of Blade Runner (1982) and, for his efforts, won a British Academy Award and an Oscar nomination. Before entering the film industry as a set designer, he graduated from the University of Arizona as an architect.
