Biography
Composer and pop singer Harry Nilsson was best-known for such hits as "Everybody's Talkin'," "Without You," "Me and My Arrow," and "Coconut." Over his career, Nilsson wrote songs for a number of groups including
The Monkees ("Cuddly Toys"), Three Dog Night ("One"), and other groups. In film, Nilsson composed the score for
Skidoo (1968). His version of "Everybody's Talkin'" was used as the title track for
Midnight Cowboy (1969). In 1971, Nilsson composed the score for the children's animated television film
The Point, which provided the hit "Me and My Arrow." A longtime friend of
The Beatles, particularly
John Lennon, Nilsson starred as Count Down opposite
Ringo Starr in the musical horror spoof
Son of Dracula (1974). In 1980, he scored the film
