Biography
Between 1966 and 1987, versatile British composer Stanley Myers scored over 60 American and British feature films beginning with
Kaleidoscope (1966). His best-known theme is that of
The Deer Hunter (1978). Myers also penned the acclaimed "Cavatina" for
John Williams. His collaboration with director
Stephen Frears on the score of
Prick Up Your Ears (1987) -- the two had previously scored Frears' My Beautiful Launderette (1985) -- won both an award for Best Artistic Contribution at that year's Cannes Film Festival. ~ Sandra Brennan, All Movie Guide
