Biography

Between 1966 and 1987, versatile British composer Stanley Myers scored over 60 American and British feature films beginning with Kaleidoscope (1966). His best-known theme is that of The Deer Hunter (1978). Myers also penned the acclaimed "Cavatina" for John Williams. His collaboration with director Stephen Frears on the score of Prick Up Your Ears (1987) -- the two had previously scored Frears' My Beautiful Launderette (1985) -- won both an award for Best Artistic Contribution at that year's Cannes Film Festival. ~ Sandra Brennan, All Movie Guide
