Biography

In 1929, his first year in Hollywood, American screenwriter Norman Houston worked on no fewer than six films. One of Houston's assignments that year was the Oscar-winning Broadway Melody. From 1936 to 1948, he was a principal writer of producer Harry T. Sherman's "Hopalong Cassidy" series. Norman Houston also did other projects for Sherman, notably the historical pageant Woman of the Town (1943). ~ Hal Erickson, All Movie Guide
