Biography

Cinematographer Matthew Leonetti has shot feature and television films in a variety of genres. The son of a gaffer, he had a lifelong interest in the film industry, but originally attended Loyola University as a finance major. After graduation, he worked in television commercials as an assistant cameraman and then served in the Army. Following his discharge, Leonetti entered films, becoming a camera operator in 1969 and a full-fledged cinematographer by 1972. The first film he shot in that capacity was The Bat People (1973) for AIP. ~ Sandra Brennan, All Movie Guide
