Biography
Born in Cherbourg, France, Jean-Charles Tacchella emerged as a filmmaker during the early '70s, and, following his debut, Voyage to Grand Tartaire (1973), he had a surprise hit two years later with the romantic comedy Cousin Cuisine, which was successful in the United States and became the subject of an American remake (
Cousins). His subsequent films include Blue Country (1977), It's a Long Time that I've Loved You (1979),
Travelling Avant (1987), and
L'Homme de Ma Vie (1992), none of which have matched Cousin Cuisine's performance in America. ~ Bruce Eder, All Movie Guide
