Biography

Jean Bourgoin is one of France's premier color cinematographers and has worked with some of the country's most prestigious directors, including Renoir. Early in his career he apprenticed with such cinematographers as Jean Bachelet and Christian Matras. Bourgoin became a full-fledged director of photography in 1937. ~ Sandra Brennan, All Movie Guide
