Biography
Manhattan-born actor George Morfogen was an alumnus of the Yale School of Drama. He made his off-Broadway bow in 1957's Trial of D. Karamazov, which led to a wealth of theatre engagements in such productions as Othello, Once in a Lifetime, The Good Soldier Schweik and The Fun Couple.
Peter Bogdanovich, who'd directed Morfogen in
Once in a Lifetime, gave the actor his first screen role as The Headwaiter in What's Up, Doc? (1972). Subsequent films in George Morfogen's resume included
The Thief Who Came to Dinner (1973),
