American cinematographer Fred Koenekamp is noted for his consistency and skill with color photography. His most notable work was done during the '60s and '70s. Koenekamp began in the film industry as a film loader at RKO in the late 1940s. It took him almost 20 years to become a full-fledged director of photography.
