Biography
Frank S. Nugent worked as a reporter and a film critic for the New York Times before moving to Hollywood in 1940 to become a script doctor. By the late '40s, Nugent became a screenwriter and specialized in Westerns. He penned a few major scripts, including
She Wore a Yellow Ribbon (1949) and
The Searchers (1956) for director
