American screenwriter Earle Snell's Hollywood career extended from 1925 to 1956. At first a specialist in comedies and romances, Snell concentrated on Westerns and crime melodramas after 1931. He spent the mid-'30s as a staff writer for the Columbia B-unit, then moved to Monogram in the early '40s, returning to comedy with his scripts for the studio's East Side Kids and
