Biography

In films from 1921, Dorothy Yost at first specialized in outdoorsy fare like Rin Tin Tin's Hills of Kentucky (1927). In the 1930s, Yost spent most of her time at RKO. Here she worked on everything from the studio's "regional" comedies (Bunker Bean et al.) to the Astaire-Rogers musicals. Dorothy Yost returned to her original specialty in the 1940s with films like Thunderhead, Son of Flicka (1945), Smoky (1946), and The Big Cat (1949). ~ Hal Erickson, All Movie Guide
