Biography
A well-known dancer, Diosa Costello had appeared opposite
Desi Arnaz,
Van Johnson, and
Eddie Bracken in the hit 1939 Broadway musical Too Many Girls. All four were eventually picked up by Hollywood but Costello was too much a specialty for stardom. She briefly decorated the "Good Neighbor Policy" musical
They Met in Argentina (1941) and later popped up in Laurel and Hardy's
The Bullfighters (1945), once again mainly providing local color. Always better known on-stage, Costello returned to Broadway in the original 1949 production of South Pacific and later decorated numerous nightclub acts. ~ Hans J. Wollstein, All Movie Guide
