Biography
Cinematographer Arthur Ornitz is best known for working with such independent filmmakers as
Russ Meyer and
Shirley Clarke. The son of
Samuel Ornitz, a screenwriter, his first film was
Joris Ivens' documentary
Power and the Land in 1940. Prior to that, Ornitz attended the U.C.L.A. film school. By the 1950s, Ornitz was filming feature films and continued to do so through the early '80s. ~ Sandra Brennan, All Movie Guide
