Biography
Spanish filmmaker Antonio Giménez-Rico has made both documentaries and fictional features; he also occasionally directs television productions. A former student of law, music, and journalism, Giménez-Rico started out in the latter field, working as a film critic until 1963 when he entered the film industry as an assistant director. Giménez-Rico made his feature-film directorial debut in 1968 with El Hueso/
The Bone. In 1996, Giménez-Rico co-directed the Spanish entry in the British Film Institute's Centennial of Cinema celebration with the documentary history of Spanish cinema's first 100 years, Sombras y Luces: Cien Anos en Cine Español. ~ Sandra Brennan, All Movie Guide
