Worst Movie Of The 70's?
By davisfreeberg in Worst Movie Ever
"If there is one decade that is known for bad b-movies, it would have to be the 70's or arguably the 1980's. Since I'm a sucker for cheap action adventure and horror movies, I've come across a number of less then stellar films. In thinking about your own 1970's movie experiences, what do you feel is the worst movie of the decade? " [More]

"I don't mind watching a goofball flick as long as the filmmakers know that it's suppose to be bad. If a film is really bad, but takes itself seriously, it's harder to get that b-movie thrill from it. When push comes to shove, I still prefer watching great films, but there are times where I like to put aside all of the seriousness and enjoy the comedic aspect of poor acting, lighting, writing and directing. "What a great idea for a contest. I'm so glad that you're helping to bring back this group. As far as presents go, I've always been pretty lucky. I do remember being a bit disappointed at getting an errector set when I was a kid, but that's not too crazy. I just wasn't into building things. Probably the worst gift was a chia head that someone gave me at a white elephant party, but chia heads are still cool in a really tacky kind of way. " [More]
The Dark Side Of Finance

"Wall St. has been a cult classic for finance types for well over 20 years and is still relevant today. It's a classic tale of the pitfalls of greed and a refreshing look at how slipperly that slope can be. The movie produces a number of really good quotes including, lunch is for whimps, money never sleeps and of course Gordon Gekko's famous greed is good speach. While the final message of the movie is a warning against the excesses of success, it also does a good job of highlighting the struggles of those who play by the rules. " [More]
Paranoia Meet The Internet

"I wouldn't consider this one of the best movies about technology, but it was still pretty good. Sandra Bullock plays a character who ends up sideways with a shadowy government and ends up having her identity stolen in a big way. While the plot is fairly predictable and the acting is a little on the weak side, the fast pace action makes it easy to look past it's flaws. The key to enjoying the film is to not take it too seriously. Not recommended for those of you who've had your credit hijacked by Nigerian scammers. " [More]

"I tend to like anything with Denzel Washington in it, so I'm probably biased on this one, but I really enjoyed this film. Sure it had it's cheesy moments, but the special effects were fantastic and the plot was intriguing. Basically, it's about a psycho computer program that connects with cutting edge nanotechnology to produce the world's worst serial killer. The movie was predictible, but there were also a few surprises. I don't know that I'd pay to see it a second time, but if you enjoy sci-fi, it's worth checking out. " [More]
