"That's - just like - your opinion, man."
Personal statement:

One of my professors says "Education, at its best, makes you less susceptible to manipulation . . . It doesn't enlarge your circle of friends though, does it?"

I've found this to be true in a lot of ways, but not on this website.  Seeing movies has enlarged my circle, thanks to Spout making those new connections possible.

"Dear Tenenbaums, Your patriotism is inspiring, but I'll be honest--if I had to choose between watching your version of Snatch or sitting through a school board meeting...I would hesitate, and then choose the school board meeting Even if the school taught Odor Education and Research.I do get a kick out of imagining George W. as the gun-toting Tommy. But maybe Al Gore, Jr. would be better than his dad at play Mickey (Brad Pitt). I have to thank you Tenenbaums, because you made me realize I don't like thinking about John Kerry. And that I especially don't like thinking about John Kerry as Bullet Tooth Tony. Thanks for playing Tenenbaums, you're a good sport! Sincerely, skypilotP.S. -- I wonder who'd be the best actor out of the bunch? I'd put my money on Obama
Snatch Capitol Hill EditionBenicio Del Toro ... "
I just noticed the "Spout Candy" scroll on the bottom left hand of the home/profile page. I don't know how those links are selected but incorporating a link to this group in there would probably benificial.
Great point Leeroy. How groups are promoted is ultimately decided by some marketing and content people on the Spout Team. That said, brainstorming doesn't hurt. " [More]

And, the one out of five that disagreed was SkyPilot anyways............ he said Gene Shalit's the coolest....................... .............................. .. What the hell does he know anyways?!?!?!
Leeroy, after reading your post I called Gene Shalit and told him you are da coolest. "
Insomnia (2002) In the Bedroom (2001) Read My Lips (2002) Red Lights (French; 2004) Bound (1996) Tell No One (French; 2008) Charade (1963) The Last Seduction (1995) Death and the Maiden (1995) Red Rock West Blindness (2008)
By the way, anyone who's seen these movies, feel free to jump in! I don't claim a monopoly on this thread, I just commit to making regular responses. Of the movies you mentioned, I have only seen Insomnia (2002). I would recommend it for a lot of reasons. It's a surprising and intense thriller that breaks some 'rules' of the genre, but stays dangerous all the way to the end. If I were you I'd start with the American version, and if you're interested in an even darker take on it, watch the original Norwegian version (1997) where the the detective is played by Stellan Skarsgaard. The chief difference between Skarsgaard's detective and Pacino's is that Skarsgaard is far more depraved. Pacino is no white knight in the American vers ... " [More]
