"I find it criminal that they "sacrificed a couple of horses." I find it disappointing that you apparently think that level of cruelty is perfectly okay if it results in what you consider to be an enjoyable movie. " [More]

"Well, it wasn't exactly his first movie, but it was probably the one that made people sit up and take notice: Jack Nicholson in the 1960 version of "Little Shop of Horrors." His first movie was "The Cry Baby Killer" in 1958. " [More]

"I have a huge issue with animals being killed or mistreated in any way in movies. In fact, I refuse to watch any movie in which that happens. There are just too many sickos in this world who will go out and mimic what they see on the screen! I consider it the height of irresponsibility to show violence against animals in films. " [More]

"Is MST3K still on, June? I haven't seen it in ages. Also, I haven't seen all of the movies you listed, but I consider Creature from the Black Lagoon and Attack of the 50 Foot Woman to be true classics! Another one the MST gang used to laugh at, but is one of my all-time favorites, is Teenagers from Outer Space. Have you ever seen it? (Although, I'm going off-topic here, am I not? Sorry!) " [More]

"I've really seen only one movie in this category...a movie so bad it played only at the drive-in. The title was The Undertaker and His Pals -- sort of a "D" grade version of Sweeney Todd!Does anybody else have titles to add? " [More]

Re: Favorite Zombie Moments

"Yes, but, the girl kitty almost always ran into a blind alley and found herself up against a fence or a brick wall when Pepe came prancing in, didn't she? :-) The idea is to run across flat land, so that you can look back and see if the Zombies are gaining on you!And what's up with a rapid Zombie? That goes against canon! That's like a vampire taking a sunbath! LOL! " [More]

"Thanks for the invitation to join, DivineMsJ.! I think my favorite Zombie moment was when I watched Night of the Living Dead for the first time, and I realized that Zombies are really, really slow! I mean, if the live people had just taken off running once they figured out they were in danger, they could have gotten away...but that wouldn't have made much of a movie, would it? LOL! " [More]

"Hi SDR! I'm a devoted fan of the above, also, but especially movies starring Fred Astaire and (almost) anybody! The first box set of Fred and Ginger movies was on sale at a price I could afford at Costco a couple of weeks ago, and I've been in, "heaven...and my heart beats so that I can hardly speak..." ever since. LOL! Seriously, the video quality of the DVDs is truly incredible. The audio is still a little wonky in places, but I guess they did the best they could with the source material they had. The box set is sooooo worth it! " [More]

"I also loved Carrie and The Stand. Another favorite is 'Salem's Lot. That book was responsible for my meeting Stephen King.It was at the Eastern States Exposition in Springfield, Massachusetts in the mid-'70s. A local book store had a tent set up there, and he was in it signing copies of the newly released paperback edition of 'Salem's Lot. His career was just starting to take off at the time, and if you can believe it, there was no one waiting in line at his table! I walked in, picked up a copy of the book, and handed it to him. As he was signing it, just to make conversation, I said, "I hope this doesn't keep me awake at night." He looked up at me and grinned and said, "Oh, I hope it does!" And yes, I still have that autographed paperback. " [More]
