"So lately I have been in the mood for some new series. For the most part I have been hitting sites like Anime News Network for listing and reviews, and then hitting up site like Veoh or Youtube to find the fansubbed pilots. It works, but I decided to bow to the wisdom of the crowds and just ask.What is worth watching? Any genres of Anime. I have a special place in my heart for Mecha and Space Opera types, but I figure I won't be the only person browsing, so post what YOU like of the last few seasons.I'll start. I'm really liking Macross Frontier. It actually feels like a real series, with its own ideas, but also plenty of nods and details for the old school Macross and Robotech fans. So far, I also think Blassreiter has some potential, even with the iffy CG work the 'villians' of the piece seem like they have some potential to do something different.So what do you like? what do you hate? "OK, it seems like you have to preference a review like this with your comic book geek cred. I have a stack of long boxes full of comics from the early 80s till last week, the vast majority of which where bought new off the rack. I've been to the area BiMonSciFi con more times than I would like to admit in public, and I have a shelf full of various actions figures i like to pretend aren't dolls. I have strong opinions about all movies, but comic movies have a special place in my heart.I enjoyed this movie, but didn't think it was great. I think they did a good job in this one of mixing humor with action, which was always may favorite part of the comics. I once again think the movie fell short in the overall plot resolution. In this case, the ending fell far flat. I thought the final visual reveal of the big bad was weak. The final, mostly off camera "fight" depended on a balance of power that obviosuly couldn't exist.
