"Thief....CAAAAAAN! Mann is fantastic at these total macho movies. Love it. Calvaire-WTF???The ultimate in european hillbilly films. Just when you thought it was weird the film takes another turn for the worst. A combination the Hills Have Eyes, 2000 maniacs, Deliverance, Misery and I don't know what. PS. I know what now..... Equus. Legend of the Black Scorpion- Pretty but dull. Boogie Nights-I'm a bright shining star. " [More]

"Alien vs. Hunter- WTF? How could anyone involved think this was a good idea? Please, stop with the rip-offs of terrible films why can't anyone steal a great idea? (see Alien Invasion: Arizona and Alien 3000)Mr. Magorium's Wonder Emporium- If I ever have kids they won't be seeing this. Band of Outsiders-fun and clever, really enjoyable.Paris When it Sizzles- William Holden is terrific-rapidly becoming a huge fan of his work. But what to watch next? A clever film that really has a lot of in jokes and film references. I probably missed a ton of them so I will have to watch this again. Love the Tony Curtis performance.Just a quick note- Thanks TCM! " [More]

"Alien vs. Predator: Requiem- So dark you can't see what's happening...proabably a good thing. What's the big deal if it is a Predalien... the Predator uses weapons for hunting the only difference it seemed to make was to give the Alien dreads and a different mouth. Quick question....Why when the Alien lays its eggs in humans the little chest poppers never look like half people? Why does it change now? Who cares? Also let's edit everything so fast you actually can't see the fights--- Great Idea! That's sure to wow the audience. I'm glad I work in a video store so I never get stung paying for stuff like this. Sweeny Todd- BOOORING! What the hell is all the fuss about. Sure the sets and design are kind of cool but is that enough? The Getaway- McQueen/MacGraw not Baldwin/Basinger. Awesome.Rollerball- Caan not Cool J.Scanners- Had not seen this since I was 12- Louis Del Grande rocks! Watch for him in reruns of Seeing Things.Touching the Void- Been there Taugh ... " [More]

"Dude, Where's My Car?-why would I watch this again-exhaustion,dehydration,d elirium? None of these reasons is a good enough excuse. I need to be punished, or have I been by watching this 'movie'?The Warriors- still fantastic but I don't care for the new transitions on the special edition DVD. One of the reasons I likes this so much was as strange as gangs like the Baseball Furies are I kinda bought into the reality of the story and setting. The comicbook panels took me out of the film everytime.License to Wed- if this movie has almost every member of "The Office" in why does it suck so much? Oh, that's right it has the RV version of Robin Williams and not the One Hour Photo Robin Williams.I Could Never Be Your Woman- What can I say we are a Paul Rudd family and watch everything he is in-despite our instincts to avoid films like this. Although it's not without its charms.Once Upon A Time In America-sprawling vast epic and the opening with the phone ... " [More]

"Chaos- Snipes, Statham and Phillippe! How can it go wrong? Well, in almost every way since you asked. Starting with the end and working backwards we can begin to dissect the problem. The end is a blatant rip off of The Thomas Crown Affair (The good one with McQueen) smashed-up with The Silence of the Lambs. The twists are obvious and as previously alluded to-derivative-Inside Man anyone?. No wonder it went straight to video.Yo-Yo Girl Cop- pass.Closure- Gillian Anderson and Danny Dyer in a bad British revenge thriller- stick with Straw Dogs or Dead Man's Shoes .The Mechanic-Charles Bronson as a cold methodical assassin who mentors a new young killer (Jan-Michael Vincent). Sweet 70's action-y filck which according to the trailer on the DVD was also known as The Killer of KillersPt. 2 tonight after work. " [More]

"Rambo- some of the most laughable dialogue ever. As well as some of the bloodiest action ever on the Hollywood big screen.Airplane- still laughing after all these years. Wife's first watch-she enjoyed it.Robin-B-Hood- Jackie Chan's latest, not that special. I prefer a New Police Story. We Own the Night- meh.Legendary Weapons of China- tremendous Shaw Brothers classic kung fu- Fantastic!!! King of Kong- Loved it. fantastic "characters", very compelling viewing even though I hate Donkey Kong. The Lookout- what a tremendous film the performances by Daniels and Gordon-Levitt were compelling and convincing. "There Will Be Blood-WOW! this was a powerful and compelling film that could easily work as a silent film. Daniel Day Lewis is tremendous again.Magnolia- When we got home from the theatre and pub we were inspired to re-watch this film. Definitely one of the heavier double bills i've experienced. I am finished. " [More]
