"Writing a "review" without even seeing the movie? interesting. There are many directors who have created some movies I love, and some I hate. Why on earth would you judge this without seeing it just because you dont like Michael Moore? that's moronic. My opinion on the movie: its funny, sick, painful, heart-wrenching; it makes you feel just about every emotion a film is capable of making you feel. If that's not the mark of a great movie, I don't know what is. " [More]

"This is a student film, and it looks like one. You waont see any brilliant acting, lighting or directing in this, but you will see a very funny black comedy with clever writing. Valiant first effort. " [More]

"David Lynch's movies have always looked beautiful. From the grainy b/w 16mm film in Eraserhead to the brilliant over the top vibrance of Blue Velvet, its always been hard not to marvel at the quality of David Lynch's work. The stories have always been intriguing, and original. Then came Inland Empire. This was shot on digital video, and really looks it. The colors are very washed out, and the lighting looks like it was done by a first year film student. And as for the story, it drags on and on and never really says too much. And, am I wrong, or did we already see some incredibly similar situations in Mulholland Drive a few years ago? Inland Empire has some brilliant moments, but they are few and far between. Definitely have to give credit to Mr. Lynch for operating as much away from the Hollywood system as humanly possible on this one. But, overall, I have to say this movie was much better the first time it was released, when it was called Mulholland Drive.
