Serialicious
"While Clint Eastwood's "Inspector Harry Callahan" could be classified as a "serial killer" himself (He HAS racked up quite an impressive body count over the course of his films), it is a little known fact that the original Dirty Harry was actually based on the Zodiac Killer case. So now, having established relevence to this group, I just wanted to say that I just heard the news that Eastwood is making a new "Dirty Harry" movie and that the soon-to-be 78 year old (!) actor/director is intending to kill off the beloved character. I think this is a brilliant move by Eastwood that will neatly put an end to the franchise and forever secure his place in cinematic history. Anyone have any thoughts on this? Also, as I recently mentioned elsewhere, I heard the rumor that Sly Stallone is intending to step into the shoes of the late great Charles Bronson and take over the Death Wish franchise. Now HERE was a TRUE "serial Killer" who also happened to be a beloved "hero"! Any t ... "

"
It's been maybe a year, perhaps year and a half, and I'm in the process of relocating my site to new servers so I can restore the images, links, update new movies and so forth. Now that aneurysm in your brain can relax. :)
How long did I know you before I ever discovered SPOUT? I think more than 6 months... now go and look when I first started our Horror Movies group and I think you will be surprised... "

HORROR MOVIES 101
"
Any clue where to find uncut and hard to find releases of movies, like mom and pop websites? The only place I know and use is http://www.diabolikdvd.com/ and http://xploitedcinema.com/cata log/index.php. I just ordered something from Cinefear video, just to check them out.
To tell you the truth, the best place to find those 'hard-to-find' titles is right here at SPOUT! I have purchased more than a dozen movies from here that simply cannot be found anywhere else. Back in the day, from the late 80's - 90's, I was dealing with half a dozen VHS 'bootleg' companies but they have all been driven out of business by the advent of the DVD... One of my old favorites, 'Midnight Video' recently had a 'going out of business sale' and I purchased about 15 VHS tapes from them... some of which I wish I hadn't! They are gone now but I think that 'SinisterCinema' is still active... they have ALL of your hard to find pre-1970's movies.... ... "

"
I'm not really not sure if this would qualify as a horror movie, but The Monster in No Such Thing for sure!
Wow, Rizzo. I had never heard of that movie before but it looks pretty freaking cool! I have added it to my list of 'must-see' movies! Thank you very much! Is there any nudity? I thought long and hard before naming Dracula my favorite horror movie character. I thought about Freddy and Quasimodo and Regan (from The Exorcist) and Lt. Kinderman ( from The Exorcist ...Lee J. Cobb giving the performance of his career) and Rhodes (from Dawn Of The Dead) and Quint (from JAWS) ... Dracula is the coolest (if not the smartest) horror movie icon of all time. He has appeared in more movies than anyone else and his sense of style and his passion for the young ladies and his supernatural abilities are second to none. Dracula IS the King. < GOR > "

"I could tell you some stories about 3-D movies... Here is a partial list of 3-D movies I have seen at the theater ; The Mask , The House Of Wax , Friday The 13th Part III and JAWS 3(-D) ... I have seen several others on TV and VHS with those 'special glasses'... I actually have about four pair of those paper 'glasses' and a few 3-D movies on VHS! I thought they were all pretty cool and JAWS 3 was kinda awsome... I do think that some sort of chemically induced 'blurred vision' can enhance the effect... (in other words it's better when you're wasted)... Here is a funny story about The Mask ... Several years ago I spent a short time in jail for a traffic violation. It was the ONE and ONLY time in my life! It just so happened that my stay in jail occurred during Halloween and a local TV station was showing The Mask in 3-D... all you had to do was pick up your FREE '3-D Glasses' at any 7-11... So here you have a bunch of guys in jail, sitting in th ... "

HORROR MOVIES 101
"
I have really been thinking about why I love horror movies so much. I know it started when I was around 4 or 5 years old and I used to LOVE all the Godzilla and Giant Robot movies, then there was Scooby Doo, then it graduated to the Christopher Lee Dracula movies, then Friday Fright night. So it’s always been a part of my life. There are so many things that I have been afraid of in my life and some pretty horrible stuff happened to me when I was a little child. For some strange reason, scary movies might have been a way for me to face my fears SAFELY and know that while watching this and surviving this movie, I had overcome something. OR it’s like others have said, since I hate flying, roller coasters and anything physically “scary” this is the only way I get my adrenaline rush (except when I am singing on stage, that can give you a major adrenaline rush – especially if you know you haven’t practiced enough on ... "
Well yesterday, I was at my least favorite store"Best Buy". And I came across this set called "EuroTrash". It was cheap and I was like screw it. So I bought it. My question is has anyone ever heard of Media-blasters entertainment or shriek show? They are some type of distributors? In all my years and movies, I have never came across them. So far these movies seem uncut and I can't complain for as little money as I spent. Just curious?? -filmnut-
What are some of the titles you have seen? "

"
Hey, I am trying to round up some suggestions on ways to enhance our groups on Spout. I have gotten a lot of ideas from the general community, but as the people who have put the current groups to work for you, I am interested to hear your perspective. A few things I am curious about and would like your thoughts: -Adding people to groups -discussions -group creation process -lists -communication with group members let me know what you think!
A live chat room would be cool. Actually, I've had a couple of people ask me about this. Ideally, you should have one for every group... but I don't know if that is even possible. It would certainly change the complexion of SPOUT and (I suspect) draw thousands of new people... Just a thought... "

"
I would like to hear what it is that you think makes some groups work and others not. Most of this is up to the involvement of users in groups and the subject that is be discussed, but are there any particular strategies that you have found work for your groups to keep people involved? Share what's worked for you...maybe it will help some one else.
Hmmm. I am developing a theory on this... But that will come later... In the mean time I think superdrive0 hit the nail on the head when he said you have to be active yourself. I am quite sure some of you are familiar with some of the stunts I have pulled in our Horror Movies group... (Don't ever try that 'Ask The Doctor' thingy... what is my underwear size?...) ... For me it is easy, I have loved Horror Movies all my life and I have a couple thousand in my collection and I love watching them and talking about them. That is what brought me to SPOUT in the first place. When I first f ... "
