Find movies you'll love
Personal statement: Hey everyone. I'm new at this so I'll update once I fell a little more comfortable with the website. It seems like a great site though. Movies are probably my favorite passion. I'm really into little indie-dramas but I'll watch anything pretty much.

"Although Shooter was an entertaining film, it was filled with many cliches. The one that stands out most vividly in my mind is the walking in slow motion in front of an american flag. Also there's the obvious, cop who knows the accused is innocent but no one believes him. My mind is hazy but there is also quite a few plotholes in the story as well. I was impressed with Mark Wahlberg's performance though. There's a reason he was nominated for Best Supporting Actor last year. If you're into mainstream action movies, check this out, I'm not so much but it was lying around and i thought 'might as well give it a chance.' You should too. Every film deserves a chance. " [More]
five out of five

"I don't see how the experts are neutral about it. Vanishing Point was a great movie. This is THE best car chase movie I've seen. It also has one of the best soundtracks of good ol' rock music out there. Vanishing Point tells the story of Kowalski, a man with nothing to lose and a car that can't be caught. He made a petty bet to get from point A to point B in x amount of time. If you can find this movie in a dollar bin or whatever, get it. The ending blew me away. I seriously did not see it coming and after it was over, I couldn't believe what I saw. " [More]
quite inspirational

"I can't believe I've never heard of this before my friend reccomended it to me. After all, living in Menomonee Falls, Wisconsin and being a lover of films as I am, one would expect me to be an expert on it. Although the humor is quite low-brow, it still gets me a laugh everytime. Especially Mike Schank's unique scream. This film is very inspirational in the sense of showing that you can put out a successful film such as Coven with a minimal budget and not much to go on. American Movie is a film about the struggle of making a movie and the good times that go along with it. Any filmmaker out there should watch this and even if you're not looking to put out a movie, it's still a good view. " [More]
Mean Creek

"I really don't understand who the 'experts' only have it 3/5. This is movie is by far one of the best movies I've seen. It has probably the most emotional scene I've seen in any movie as well. Mean Creek tells the story of a group of kids simply wanting to get revenge on a school bully. To go along with this great, and suspensful at times, story, Mean Creek contains one of the best soundtracks I've heard in a long while. If you can, pick it up. You won't be dissapointed. " [More]

three hundred men fight and die

"I know I'm probably in the minority when I say this but 300 was awful. Of course the creators took a risk by putting this type of animation/visual effects onto a mainstream screen, but that doesn't make up for it's lack of story. The whole plot line is pretty much: they get angry, they hunt, they fight, they die. All of this is included with virtually no plot development nor character development. I realize that most counter-arguements would be "but films are for entertainment" Sure films are for entertainment, that's what they're made for, but shouldn't some thought go into them as well. In this movie, it didn't really give you much to think about. It handed it all to you. Some people may like it like that. I don't. " [More]
Great movie

"This is a short film about Jasper Morello. Jasper is a guy who lives in a town somewhere in a near industrial era. His village is undergoing a plague of a flesh eating disease. He is asked to navigate a ship to see if the altitude has anything to do with it. He goes along with the trip in hopes of redeeming himself of a fatal accident years ago. Throughout the trip, he befriends a scientist from a university. We later learn that the scientist is determined to find a cure no matter what the cost. What I enjoyed most about the film was the suspense and silouhette animation. " [More]

Re: Top 5 Heist Films
By RyantheFATE in Top 5
"The Dead President heist scene if I remember correctly is about 6 or 7 people staged around the receiving dock for a bank. The armour truck comes and everyone is either hiding or pretending like nothing is going down. The two people under the dock get spotted and the guards go after them. They attach a bomb to the truck door to blow it off but it instead blew up the money along with the door. Around 3 people die and in the end, the police storm everyone and find Chris Tucker's character dead and corner the other two. " [More]
Could've been better

"I first checked out Elephant by Gus Van Sant because a friend loved it. Although the story was strong and had a lot of potential, this was an overall, weak film. I understand that Van Sant just picked these kids off of the streets of Portland but he could've at least yelled "CUT!" a few times during the filming due to poor acting. The movie tries to create realism by using abnormally long shots and following students from point a to point b. I was alright with that as well. What I didn't like was that he could never allow any character to have anything that would distinct them from other students emotionally-wise. What I mean by this is that when the students die, I couldn't really feel anything for them. " [More]
