"Overall enjoyable movie, not much seems to happen but through the kids' perspective what does happen is huge. Loved the visuals, simple, vast, and gorgeous. "

"Forgot to mention this one /)_-. This is essentially a netflix for asian films, I did a 3dvd/at a time subscription for several months last summer and liked it. Definitely saves money on having to import, etc. Pretty good selection and turn around time wasn't too bad. Tiger Cinema "

"That course sounds very interesting :) . Nobody Knows is a fine film, I really enjoyed it as well. I was really impressed with the lead actor, he did a great job, especially with his younger siblings in the movie. Thanks for adding to the list! "

"Ah, Save the Green Planet and Citizen Dog are excellent, both fun quirky films to watch. I see Citizen Dog often compared to Amelie with its highly saturated colors and maybe its cartoony style? but I think Citizen Dog can stand on its own. I've still not yet seen Happy Times and the Road Home despite having them on DVD /)_- but you bringing it up may get me to watch it this weekend :) . "

"Hmm..., I've not seem Kids, although from the details it seems Kids is more extreme in subject matter? I do think they sound similar in terms of theme concerning modern youth and its problems. "

Shunji Iwai

"Shunji Iwai is definitely one of my favorite directors. The first film of his I saw was All About Lily Chou Chou which has come to be one of my favorite films with its style, edting, cinematography. Since seeing All About Lily Chou Chou, I've seen several of his other works: Hana and Alice, April Story, Love Letter, and Swallowtail Butterfly. I enjoyed all of them very much. If you get the chance to see them, I highly recommend them all. Shunji Iwai, I think, makes movies which are very human (if that makes any sense, I'm not really sure what I mean?). Swallowtail Butterfly is different from the other mentioned films in general, but it's still a great film that isn't limited to a particular genre. Watch them please!Sorry if what I'm saying about the films is incredibly broad, but please do watch them when you can! "

"Sorry there's been no activity, I haven't been on Spout for a looooonnnnggg while. If anyone wants to be promoted to admin not a problem, maybe that'll get it more active. Also if anyone spots some asian movies on spout, it'd be great to add it to the group lists. "

"Oh gosh this is late I know, but just in case. I have seen Death Note a few months back and subs are available for both movies. I believe yesasia has a 3 Disc set with english subs for both movies. I liked the anime better, the movie L was really cool though and they're making a spinoff based on him. "
