Rudolf Nureyev in Valentino (1977)

"Just watched Ken Russell's Valentino (1977)...um...LAME! I think what hurts the film the most (aside from the cardboard direction by Russell) was the casting of Rudolf Nureyev as Valentino. They didn't have to find someone that looked exactly like Valentino but the guys face looks like granite as opposed to the sleak/art deco look of Valentino plus Nureyev looks too aged...like an elbow. I wish they could have found a then unknown that had a natural screen presence. I'm not even going to get into William HOOTkins performance as Roscoe 'Fatty' Arbuckle. Bill was a good actor but in this film I was just hoping a imperial starfighter would come along a zap him again. "Oh, you're cute... like a velvet glove cast in iron." " [More]

"The first heinous (yet comical) one that comes to mind is Cary Elwes in SAW (2003). The role of Dr. Lawrence Gordon asks of its actor to go to that place that Brad Pitts character Detective David Mills ("What's in the box?") finds himself at the end of SE7EN.
