"There are two points that make this a fantastic film.1: Dissect it while watching and be appalled at all the similarities to The Fresh Price of Bal Air.2: Laugh, and laugh a lot. This is a hysterical movie. And it gets even better if you turn the volume down and speak for the characters. " [More]

"This is one of my favorites for very simple reasons. Even tho it is in color AH did a great job of giving the same feel as his B&W. The cuts, 9 in all and almost all blended into objects so you cant tell the cut was made. It gives you the feel of being right in the room at the party. Because of the few takes, they managed to pull of filming in under 2 weeks. This is unheard of now. Here we have a film with a great plot, great art, and efficiently produced to boot. Fantastic. An instant classic... for me.

"I have been a mild fan of classic noir. Before seeing this, it did seem to have an interesting premis and a good cast. It's about high school students and some of the cast members are actually high school age... what a novel idea. Little did i know that it would immediately delve into 1920s style detective speak. I have always been a fan of film that puts a new spin on a classic idea. You can pick out which students are cops, detectives, drug runners and crooks (which is very obvious here). Brick takes the classic detective mystery and applies it to 2000s high school students in much the same way Romeo & Juliet was adapted to modern times. Perfect score. I will be buying this film. "Yea! and whats up with romantic comedies? Doesn't that happen enough in tha real world too? Unless there is a romantic murder comedy about a dead Hugh Grant... that would be sweet! Really, real life is SOOOO dumb. There should only sci-fi and hobbit movies. I right there with you. " [More]

"PS: Snakes on a Plane was actually the working title. Samuel threatened to leave the film if they didnt keep it as the final name as well. It was also originally slated to be PG-13 until some hefty messaging/threading got way to the producers and a few scenes were actualy reshot or recut so that the fans had a say in what went on. This should be a whole new genre of film. " [More]

"This was possibly one of the greatest comedies of the year. The way Samuel worked the producers on th escript and the changes that were made mid-filming to apease threaders made it the perfect B thriller/comedy with an A budget. I saw it in a packed theatre, opening day, and it was filled with obnoxious kids that usually make going to the theatre unbearable. They only made it better. Everybody was cheering/clapping/chanting thru the whole ordeal. It is less or a movie... more of an experience. " [More]
