[What do you think?]
"I had the good fortune of catching Layton Blaylock's film at the 2008 Kansas International Film Festival and found it to be a really impressive debut documentary. The film follows a group of homeless individuals in Austin, TX that are given the opportunity to create and sell art through a unique commmunity organization, the Austin Resource Center for the Homeless. The film succeeds, not only in celebrating the the creativity of the subjects, but in humanizing them as well. I highly recommend catching this doc if you can find it. "

The Documentary
"It's a surprisingly good festival. It takes place within a good time frame to Sundance and regularly gets one or two surprisingly prominent headliners. What I've found most interesting is that regardless of the location they still pull in some fantastic filmmakers. "

"Here's a handful of scores I absolutely love: -- Requiem for a Dream (Mansell + Kronos Quartet) -- Donnie Darko (Andrews) -- Motorcycle Diaries (Drexler + Santaolalla) -- Hero (Tan Dun) "

"I'm not too sure how long Spout has been around but I've only recently discovered it. Thus far, I'm a huge fan. In my experience film communities are some of the most dedicated and loyal social networks around. What a great idea to take this community online. As for myself, I'm a huge movie buff with a preference for independent and art-house cinema. Living in Kansas City, I'm also proud to be a member of the board of directors of the Kansas International Film Festival held in the Kansas City Metro area every year in September (keep an eye out and I'll try drop some KIFF-related updates from time to time).Anyway, I'm glad to become involved with the Spout community and look forward to participating as much as possible. Any seasoned Spout-ers out there feel free to send any advice my way on making the most of the site. "
