"pippin06 - I stayed through the credits. The scene after is about 15 -20 seconds long, and I'm not sure if it is earth-shattering. I can definitely say that I would not pay another $8 or $9 just to see that part. But, if you were thinking of seeing X3 again anyway, then it might be fun to wait. Or, when you go to see Superman, just stick your head in the X3 theater at the end of the film. I saw an interview with Hugh Jackman, and he said that he was sure there would be no more X-Men movies. Not sure how reliable his info is, but the post-credits scene of X-3 is probably going to be related to one of the aforementioned spin-offs. "

"I'm sure that most of us have walked into a video store that categorizes films by genre and found some titles that seemed out of place. I have noticed that the rental stores are switching more and more to a strictly alphabetical storage system. Not only does this new method seem more efficient and "user friendly," it also avoids the problems of deciding what genre a film should be placed in. Aside from theoretical debates about what a genre is, the methods for using these types of film categories, and how to apply genres to films in an objective or technical manner, I would like to know what makes Fantasy so special to the members of this group. I know what I think of when I think Fantasy, but I also know that defining the category is quite a subjective experience. So, in an experiment to find a binding tie between people who love fantasy, I would like to know what the Least Common Denominator is, if there is one at all, between us. I'll start: I immediately think of those busy an ... "

"I'm a little late here - but I'll post it anyway. Gambit seems to be one of those characters that people either like a lot, or don't care for so much. He appeared in X-Men (UXM #266 - 8/90) after I had been into it for a year or so, and I didn't really like him all that much. A co-worker of mine thinks he is the best X-Man ever - and he started reading comics after Gambit - maybe that makes the difference. Regardless, I was disappointed that he never made it on-screen. He and Wolverine had much more tension between them than Cyclops and Wolvie ever did - maybe that's why he never appeared. I've always wanted to be Colossus. He didn't get much screen time in the X-movies (and he wasn't Russian in the films, and he should have been more massive -especially when converted into organic steel - but Wolverine and Colossus did their trademark "fastball special" two times in X3, which makes up for the other stuff). Anyway (I'm trying to stay on track...), Peter (Colossus' "government name" ... "

"tmoney - You're right, The Juggernaught is not a mutant - his helmet gives him special powers. The Kitty Pryde fight scene would not have happened the way it did because he is not a mutant. The Juggernaught is actually Professor X's step-brother, which was also never apparent. I have been willing to let the continuity recombinations go since X1 (continuity as it occurs in the comic books). I decided to judge the X movies on cinematic quality and entertainment value rather than on how accurately the characters, powers and plots were portrayed in respect to the original storylines. I figured a good movie is a good movie, and so I can't really judge a film that is trying to squeeze decades of stories into a couple of hours of screen time on its ability to remain "canon." However, X3 was so far off the mark on just continuity alone that it was a slap in the face to the Marvel writers / artitsts. I liked X1 and I really liked X2 as movies. Sure, they were not true to the comics, but I ... "

"I've finished filling in my Favorite List details. I guess I thought that it was important to get my opinions out at the beginning. If I join a group or start talking to someone about a particular film, there is a reference to my general likes, dislikes, and opinions. That's all for now - I'm going to start sending replies to some of the more interesting blog posts. Spout Rocks! "

Filling in the Details

"I started filling in the details of my favorite films. The task is actually taking longer than I thought it would, but I am forced to recall all the great things about the movies I own that have been collecting dust, and the ones I'd like to own sometime soon. I'm not sure if anyone will actually read any of those details, but I feel like I am accomplishing something by putting into words my thoughts and feelings about each of my favorite films. I have also realized that it is redundant to mark "I've Seen It" along with marking a film as one of "My Favorites." So, I'll come up two times in a search for one film - oops. I'm new to this forum/blogging thing, and so I guess I'll keep being that guy who doesn't know what he's doing. I want to join a group, but I'm not sure what to do - another newbie problem. I'll just start pestering people - and I'll figure this out soon enough. :) If any one cares, I like to talk about symbolism, meaning and general quality. I like to explore bot ... "

"For my first post, I'll introduce my film-self. Why? Because I don't know what else to do. I appreciate films that have thought-provoking philosophical merit. The good thing about this cerebral preference is my aptitude to find meaning in almost every dialogue statement, POV, camera-angle, color scheme, etc. So, basically, I am able to like just about any film. My favorites are what I would consider an eclectic blend of genres, eras, styles, and interests. I didn't refine my categories because a favorite is a favorite - for now - and I'll eventually write my own mini-review for each film. On to a more specific topic - did anyone else feel utterly depressed for a few days after watching "Requiem for a Dream?" I own the movie, but I have only watched it once. I don't know if I will be able to recover from that experience again - am I alone on this? "
