"Miike is amazing. I recommend all his movies. Visitor Q is very strange and a bit disturbing in parts (You won't have any question on which parts when you see it). My favorite Miike film is Audition. It's almost a perfect film. Ichi the Killer is amazing too. The Great Yokai War had good visuals but was a pretty strange fantasy. The Bird People of China was a big change of pace for Miike. Nothing like the rest of his films. Another favorite of mine is Deadly Outlaw Rekka. It's one of the best Yakuza films I've seen. The ending is outstanding. " [More]

"I thought "cut" was pretty great. I loved the visuals and the tension. I'm not sure about the ending. I'm not the greatest at "getting" that sort of thing. "Box" was pretty tame for Takashi Miike. It was still good just not what I expected. You should see "Imprint". It's Miike's Masters of Horror episode that didn't get aired because it was too graphic. It is really good.I saw H a while ago. I was pretty tired when watching it and drifted off a couple of times but I didn't really care for what I saw. It just didn't grab me.That's too bad you didn't care for The Host. I loved it. Have you seen that directors other film Memories of Murder? It's amazing too. " [More]

"Sorry for taking so long to get back to you. Busy lately. I'll try to do better in the future. The only film I've seen so far by Kim-Ki Duk is Bad Guy. I thought it was very interesting but didn't really go where I was hoping. I'll have to rent Samaritan Girl to see how that is.I'm very excited to get The Host on 7/24 especially since they are releasing it on HDDVD. That is an amazing film.I'm not sure why A Bittersweet Life isn't out in America yet. It is such an amazing film. I got it through Ebay. That is where I get alot of films that are not available in America yet. My second favorite Park-chan Wook film is Sympathy for Lady Vengeance. The style, characters and story progression is amazing. Have you seen R-Point? It is a pretty good ghost story. I expected it to be better but it was still pretty good. " [More]

"Evil Live - Yes, that is the same director who did Oldboy. Everything he does is fantastic. Evil Live is something about vampires. The Good, the Bad and the Weird - Unfortunately I don't know more about this film. I love this directors previous films "A Tale of Two Sister" and "A Bittersweet Life". In fact if you haven't seen "A Bittersweet Life" go find it now. It is one of my favorites. I have seen 3 Extremes. I liked it. Takashi Miike's is strange and a bit tones down from his usual work. Chan-wook Park's is great. Fruit Chan's is a bit unsettling. I've seen 3 Extremes 2 also but right now I can't remember how it was.My favorite Korean film ever is still Oldboy. A Bittersweet Life is a close 2nd. My favorite asian horror/suspense in the last 5 years is The Host. That movie was one of the best monsters flix I've seen in a long time. " [More]

"Well, Brad Pitt's Plan B Entertainment purchased the rights to the book so I would assume that he has first choice for the lead role. I have not read the book yet but he is an extremely versatile actor and I think he could do a great job. I've read The Zombie Survival Guide. That's a great book. Alot of fun. " [More]

"I know there was a discussion on this question already but I thought I'd chime in here anyway.Pet Cemetary is a good example of "Zombies" that don't have a flesh eating desire. They seem to just be really evil and want to kill. As for 28 Days Later & 28 Weeks Later, I would certainly classify them as Zombies because they have only the basic functions left, they do hunger for human flesh (they eat multiple people in the first and second film plus they are not interested in the other infected) and they are "dead". How many people have you met that can puke-up buckets and buckets of blood and still run around? I'm pretty sure they are "dead" after being infected. " [More]

HORROR MOVIES 101
"Sorry to hear you didn't like 28 Weeks Later. I am a huge fan of 28 Days Later and tought that the sequel was pretty great. It maintained the style and feel of the first very well. Granted it didn't have the Danny Boyle flair that I loved in the first but still a great sequel. I do have to say that my favorite foreign horror, perhaps favorite horror period, is High Tension. Everything about this movie is magnificent. Alexandre Aja is by far one of my favorite horror movie directors and I look forward to seeing more from him. " [More]

HORROR MOVIES 101
"Disturbing/Discomforting scenes:1) End scene of Audition - very well done, quite difficult to watch.2) Rape scene and head beating scene in Irreversible: very realistic and difficult to watch.3) Tied-up animals fighting to the death in Cannibal Ferox: This scene is hard to watch because it is real. No tricks or special effects. The director ended up getting arrested after making this movie.4) Living room scene in Funny Games: very well done film, very realistic scene. " [More]

"It seems that lately there have been many amazing films and directors coming out of Korea. For example, all films from Park Chan-Wook, Kim Jee-Woon, Kim Ki-Duk, Gong Su Chang and Kang Gyu Je. Their great films include Old Boy, Sympathy for Mr. Vengeance, Sympathy for Lady Vengeance, JSA, A Tale of Two Sisters, A Bittersweet Life, The Quiet Family, The Botherhood of War, and R-Point. Does anyone know of any other great Korean films? " [More]
